In today’s digital world, we are constantly bombarded with messages telling us how we should look, how we should act and what we should and shouldn’t do or have. Despite these messages, have you recently stopped and thought about what you really want in your business or life? If you haven’t and you don’t like what you are doing, how can you truly have a positive attitude?
In the past decade, business has changed considerably and if you have not adjusted to accommodate, you risk either being left behind or going out of business completely.
Blockbuster who hired out DVDs and videos is a good example. It was a booming and well-established company, however, didn’t look forward. Ironically, they were given the chance to buy Netflix in 2013 and passed only to be put out of business by them years later.

Be Prepared For Change and Know Your Why
Business owners must learn to be prepared for change and truly know their why. If you don’t know why you are in business, when the going gets tough, it will be harder to keep moving forward. Most people assume their why is the first thought that comes to mind. For many business owners this is normally money. While you need to make money, you must know your greater purpose, your mission and vision. It’s important to re-evaluate these regularly too to ensure they are relevant to your business today.
Be Yourself and Be Authentic
As Marie Forleo says “this world needs the gift only you can give” however, only if you are being you. If you have reassessed your why, take action to go and make it a reality. You must ensure your expertise and passion align with your current business. If not, why not? If your passions don’t align with your current business, it may be time to re-evaluate what you do.
Fall in Love with Your Business
If you have fallen out of love with what you do, can you make changes to fall back in love with your business? If there are certain jobs that you feel drag you down, can you delegate these? We often perform tasks not in our skill set when we should be delegating them to someone else.
Use Your Existing Knowledge to Your Advantage
Business owners can be consumed doing course after course thinking they need to gain new or more extensive knowledge. However, this is not the case. Use the knowledge you have first. It may not be perfect, but you can’t improve if you don’t start somewhere.
Stop chasing someone else’s dream and start chasing your even own dreams.
