Tom Nash was a 19 year old Uni student that has everything to live for when he contracted meningococcal. A sporty and active young man now had some horrific decisions to make. He had to choose whether or not to have his both his legs removed after already having his arms amputated.
Today 20 years later Tom is a DJ, a businessman and an international public speaker who remind us all, that there is no one path to success: There can be many if you know where to look.

When Tom was learning to walk again, he would go to the bottom of a set of steep stairs near The Rocks close to the hospital in which he was recovering. Day after day he would push himself, but he couldn’t master the stairs. He trained and got stronger.
He went day after day. He saw himself climbing the stairs and still he could not.
Tom often went and spoke to the burns unit patients who were also in the hospital. One day after a conversation he was told something: You just have to do things differently from what you have done before.
The next day Tom started again.
Instead of trying to walk up the stairs as he had done for all those days, he turned sideways. Within minutes he had conquered the staircase that had frustrated him for all those months.
